Inviting many great authors who create their do-it-yourself projects as guests in my website are a challenging project for me.
It is my first time to interview one of the great authors of DIY project instructions. Therefore, it made me a little bit of nervous doing it.
Overview
For this guest author is my best friend and she is like a sister to me, my nervous feeling is going away and with self-assurance, I present my interview (virtually) with Britt Michelsen.
Let me introduce a little background of Britt Liv Ulrike Michelsen. She is a wife, a mom of wonderful son and also a chemical engineer. She is one of the outstanding authors in Instructables.com. Lots of her projects have been featured in that website. Her nickname in Instructables is Brittliv. I know her from Instructables, too. She is the most kind hearted person I ever know.
Feel free to follow her @Brittliv in Instagram and Brittliv in Instructables.com. You will not regret to do it because you will find a tons of inspirational and innovative projects from her.
Interview with Britt Michelsen
Here is the interview:
(C is Charles or me and B is Britt)
C: When is the first time you build a project? Are you publishing your first project in Instructable? How do you know about Instructable?
B: I have been making things as long as I can remember. Before even knowing how to write I used a bunch of nails and hammered them into a board to show an "E" as a gift for my grandma "Else". I published my first instructable in 2009. This was way after I started making things
C: What is your first project?
B: My first project on instructables is a functional USB flash drive Rubiks Cube
C: How many projects have you made so far?
B: Hundreds, I don’t publish everything, but I am constantly making things.
C: Which project do you love most, and you dislike most, and why are you saying that?
B: I think my favourite project so far is my Deadpool knife block. I don’t have a least favourite project, even when something fails I am constantly learning new things.
C: Which the most challenging project that you made? Could you please tell me why?
B: The Nerf Sentry Gun, it took me the longest to finish. I made it while not being home most of the time and therefore didn’t have many tools.
C: What is the average time for you to finish one project?
B: It is very different, but I rarely finish anything in less than two weeks, especially because I constantly work on multiple things.
C: Do you do your project by yourself, or is there any family member help you doing your project?
B: I do my projects alone most of the time sometimes my husband helps me with the electronics.
C: Who influences you for making your projects?
B: Honestly I don’t have anybody who is influencing me. I just make whatever comes into my mind.
C: My last question is, what are your suggestion and advice to our "do it yourself project" website and our audience, too?
B: Take as many pictures as you can if you are planning on publishing it.
That is all of my interview with Britt. Thank you so much for your kind answer, Britt. I love all your projects and hope the very best for you.
Note:
After this interview post, I will post another two articles from Britt, so please keep reading.
See you for other interview!
